
Kampala, Uganda — Uganda Air Cargo Corporation has successfully concluded a specialized Cargo Sales short course, conducted by expert Facilitators from Kenya Airways. The training aimed to enhance the Corporation’s cargo business performance, improve customer service and build in-house expertise to compete more effectively in the regional and global aviation markets.
The intensive program brought together staff from the sales, marketing, Finance and cargo handling departments for a hands-on learning experience tailored to the real-world demands of the air freight industry. It forms part of Uganda Air Cargo Corporation’s ongoing commitment to professional development and operational excellence.
Facilitated by Kenya Airways Pride Center —renowned for its operational excellence in cargo logistics—the course reflects a strong spirit of regional collaboration. By investing in African-led training, Uganda Air Corporation is fostering sustainable growth through knowledge-sharing, practical learning and workforce empowerment.
The course equips participants with vital skills and tools to respond to shifting market demands, strengthen client relationships, and deliver cargo services with increased efficiency and professionalism.
Participants explored a wide range of topics, including the forces affecting competition in the aviation sector, the nature of B2B cargo markets, and the role of customer relationship management in retaining clients. They also developed skills in identifying business prospects, preparing compelling sales proposals, and managing cargo service contracts with best practice approaches that align with legal and operational standards.
Feedback from the participants has been overwhelmingly positive. Many reported greater confidence in customer interactions and a better understanding of market dynamics. Uganda Air Cargo Corporation expects to see improved performance, enhanced service delivery and increased cargo revenues as these skills are applied in practice.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Fungo Wamai Dan David, representing the General Manager, Lieutenant General (Rtd) James Nakibus Lakara, commended the commitment demonstrated by both the trainees and the Kenya Airways Facilitators.
